For the first time in the nearly 5 years I have been open, I am taking the family on an honest to goodness vacation. Usually we sneak out just for a long weekend. I have missed one New Comic Wednesday since I have been open and it went very poorly, so I chose not to miss another. But when a friend said she wanted to rent a house on the beach for a week in the Outer Banks and invited us, I really couldn’t say no. I will be leaving Friday and I’ll be out the whole next week.
The store will still be open! Matt R, Matt L and Rich will be ably keeping things going in my absence. Matt L even wants to do a podcast without me (the nerve!). So, please don’t not let my absence concern you at all. I know the main reason you all shop here is my witty banter and vast knowledge of The Boys, but do your best to get by without me. New books will still be out Wednesday and all subs will be pulled. There may be some hiccups as so much of the store is run out of my head that I can’t leave notes for every possible contingency. I will be available by phone except when I am swimming (which I hope is a lot), but things may need to wait until I get back to be taken care of (special orders, finding stuff from other stores and the like). You can always email me ([email protected]) any requests and I will forward them on. Or you can email Matt L directly ([email protected]). We’ll make sure to pass them along to whomever will be handling anything. I will check my mail all the time, so I should get back to you relatively quickly.
To put the pressure on, I’m only going to pay them if sales the week I am gone are better than this past week. Let’s see how they respond.
