After writing my little farewell to Jeremy, I realized that I never said anything nice publicly about Rich, who also left for bigger and better.
Rich had been a customer for a good long while when one day he asked me why I wasn’t open on Monday. I told him that was my day to watch the kids and it wasn’t that busy of a day anyway. Well, Rich apparently wanted out of the house, so he offered to run the store on Mondays for me. The store not being busy was actually really good for Rich. He’s a bit of a neat freak (I am not as you may be able to tell). So he’d come in and get rid of all of the shipping boxes I had piled up and got all of the lead figures labelled and put away. He’d run the sweeper and mop the wood floor. If anything was out of place he’d take care of it.
As life took a different turn than he expected, he could no longer work Mondays for me. And it shows. It takes me a lot longer to get stuff put away. The carpet isn’t swept every week. I swiffer the floor, but I haven’t mopped it (he’s cringing right now).
So, the store is a little more cluttered, and its all Rich’s fault. But I dearly miss all that he did for me.
Thanks again, Rich.
Thank you for the 2+ years of employment there. I wish i could have stayed another 2 years. It was a pleasure to be there and work for you.
