Wolverine’s internal and external struggles continue.  A possessed Wolverine battles Magneto, Namor, and Cyclops while demons ransack Logan’s mind.

This issue really stands out as the best yet of the newly rebooted series.  I absolutely love Cyclops’ plan to take down Wolverine.  Magneto’s attack takes me all the way back to 1993’s “Fatal Attractions” crossover.  The demonic Wolverine’s retaliation is even better, reminding readers the horror that Magneto experienced as a child.

The battle in Logan’s mind is even better.  In a desperate attempt to repel the demon horde, Logan releases the many different past incarnations of himself.  Its basically a trip down memory lane.  Good stuff for sure.  To aid Logan, the women of his life enter his mind and help battle the demon onslaught.  Perhaps best of all though, is the cliffhanger.  I won’t ruin it, but I will say if you are an X fan, you’d appreciate it.

Some people might not like the art though because Acuna focuses less on detail and more on color.  Personally, it doesn’t bother me.  In my opinion, the story does not suffer from his style; both conflicts are engaging and easy to follow.

I am very excited to see how this storyline concludes.  The cliffhanger alone is worth the price of the book; although I wonder why this couldn’t be $2.99 since there isn’t an “extra” story.
