It’s a Happy Day

So this is the first line on my invoice for next week:

DAY EARLY DELIVERY COMPLIANCE FUND (NET) $4.00

Oh, happy day.  What does this mean?  It means that, starting next week, the books will be arriving on TUESDAYS!

Now, don’t get too excited.  I will not be selling them on Tuesdays.  That is actually what the $4 weekly fee is for.  I have to pay into a Secret Shopper fund to make sure no one is cheating.

But, instead of waiting patiently for UPS to arrive and then working like a bat out of hell to get everything on the shelves before people start coming on their lunch breaks, I can now start checking in and shelving stuff Tuesday night, stress-free.  I can do the subscriber pulls when I get in Wednesday morning.  I will actually be able to read the hot new thing and hand sell or recommend stuff.  I can actually get toys and statues out on display in a more timely fashion.  I can get all of the empty boxes and mountains of packing material off the sales floor before Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

I can be a real sales person.

It’s a Happy Day.
